Awards for Excellence in Teaching and Research 2013

LISBOAN offers annual awards for excellence in teaching and research with a view to the Treaty of Lisbon. The awards are open to both members and non-members of the network. Each award is endowed with a prize of 1.500 € and may distinguish a wide variety of persons or activities: senior or young researchers, docents, but also academic careers, online courses, text books, etc.

The selection committees for the teaching and the research award, headed by Prof. Lenka Rovna (Charles University Prague) and Prof. Brigid Laffan (University College Dublin), respectively, have had to choose from several excellent candidates. The following submissions have been selected:

Awards 2012

Jaap de Zwaan, Flora Goudappel (Erasmus University Rotterdam) and Sarah Wolff (The Clingendael Institute) receive the Award for excellent research. They are distinguished for their publication "Freedom, Security and Justice after Lisbon and Stockholm" [more...], published in 2011.

Alejandro Ribo (College of Europe) and Bruno Scholl (College of Europe) receive the Award for excellent teaching.

The ceremony took place on 11th May 2012 during the second Annual Conference.

Awards 2011

Nicolae Paun, Jean Monnet Chair at Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj, Romania, receives the Award for excellent teaching.
 
The Award for excellent research was split between two works:

Laurent Pech, Jean Monnet Chair in EU Public Law, National University of Ireland, Galway, is distinguished for his book “The European Union and its Constitution: From Rome to Lisbon”.

Peter van Elsuwege, Professor of European Law, University of Ghent, Belgium, is distinguished for his contribution “EU External Action after the Collapse of the Pillar Structure. In Search of a New Balance between Delimitation and Consistency”, published in Common Market Law Review.

The ceremony took place on 17th June 2011 during the LISBOAN Annual Conference that was held in Brussels (16/17 June 2011).
